The Course
Get ready to jump down the rabbit hole and into the spotlight. Join Jamie & Katie for a week of Musical Theatre, learning all things singing, dancing and acting ahead of a final Friday performance. On this course, you will learn all the skills you need to step on stage and shine, including: learning and performing big dance numbers in a range of styles; singing in unison, harmony, and solo; and (most importantly) having fun! We challenge our students to learn all their material in only 4 days and you'll be amazed with what they can achieve in just one week of intensive learning. So join us this Summer to enter a Wonderland of Musical Theatre.
Jamie & Katie have worked together for over 5 years as a teaching team, helping students grow confidence in their musical theatre skills. Their different specialisations complement each other, as Jamie teaches dance and Katie teaches singing, but they don't let this box them in! As trained performers, they are each able to step in and assist on all aspects of performance, using their theatre backgrounds to help students mature into well-rounded performers on stage.
The Team

Jamie Stratford
Jamie trained at the Musical Theatre Academy in London. Since graduating in 2017, he has performed in numerous shows and pantomimes, touring around the UK, and has worked internationally as a lead vocalist in resorts across Europe. Jamie has also worked as a children’s performing arts teacher for the last 10 years. With his performance training background, he encourages students to reach their full potential across all three musical theatre disciplines. More importantly to him, using drama and imaginative play to help develop children’s confidence and communication skills is a true passion and something he feels very lucky to have the chance to do!

Katie Payne
Katie specialises in vocal arrangement and group singing. Moving to Birmingham for uni, she achieved a first-class Drama and Theatre Arts degree and has sinced worked backstage as a theatre technician at multiple Birmingham theatres, assisting with stage, lighting, and costume across countless UK tours (incl. Les Miserables, Hamilton, Sister Act, Shrek, The Lion King). Katie has plenty of her own experiences onstage, performing in pantomimes, musicals and touring the South West with Shakespeare plays.
It is Katie’s strong belief that every child should be allowed to express themselves on stage and she loves watching each student improve week by week in her lessons.

TESTIMONIALS
Katie is not only a fabulous teacher with an incredible musical knowledge, but an endearing and supportive guide to any student, young or old(ish). I cannot recommend her enough, whether that’s to improve your ability or simply build in confidence. She is a go to for any and every performance goal.
Olivia Birch - Performer
Katie has worked with me for a number of years as my Musical Theatre Director. She is exceptionally gifted at teaching singing in a way that is easy and relevant to students. She is fun and works with students on technique and her own belief that they can sing. She is gentle and able to give even my most self conscious students confidence. She is quite simply masterful whilst always allowing time to laugh a little.
Sue Day - Principal
I have had the pleasure of working with Katie casually and professionally on a number of projects over the last 10 years, and can say that her commitment to and understand of her art is truly phenomenal. She is encouraging, knowledgeable, and an incredibly talented performer and musician. I can think of few better people to nurture and guide the growth of musical ability.
Jake Bussell - Muscial Director
I had the privilege of working with Katie for the UOB Panto Soc production of ‘Shawshank Redemption’ in 2019. She helped me massively to inprove my singing. She is extraordinarily talented and a lovely, very warm person. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their singing teacher!
